What Difference of ATC CNC Router Than Ordinary 3 Axis CNC Router

ATC CNC Router is cnc router with Automatic Tool Changer function but it not only because of ATC function, there have more advantages and difference than common 3 axis and 4 axis cnc router.
Below we will explain to you the difference between of them :

Machine Configuration difference:

1. Spindle:
ATC CNC Machine spindle is 9.0kw HQD or HSD air cooling spindle with ATC function (also have some use water cooling spindle power 5.5kw)
Ordinary cnc router spindle power have 2.2kw/3.5kw/4.5kw/5.5kw/6kw etc and now mostly use air cooling and water cooling both in market. 

Automatic tool change  (linear type tool changer and disc type tool changer)
ATC spindle has an independent tool magazine that can automatically replace the required tools during processing of the workpiece without stopping the work. When engraving complex patterns, you can choose different tools, which greatly speeds up work efficiency and improves product quality. Automatic tool-changing engraving machines are also the ultimate trend in the development of CNC engraving machine equipment.

But ordinary spindles only can be manual tool changed.

2. Motor and driver:
ATC CNC  Router usually use servo motor and drivers power from 750w to 1300w , there have many brand like Japan Yaskawa servo, Taiwan Delta etc .
Common cnc router usually use stepper motor and drivers it is more cheap and low accurate.

About servo motor

Advantages: It has all the advantages of stepper motors and makes up for the shortcomings of stepper motors. It does not lose steps when the load large, provides timely feedback and reports, has high precision and fast progress.

Disadvantages: Only supporting drivers can be used, no mixing and matching

About stepper motors

Advantages: No steps are lost during work, acceleration ratio reaches 30%, good cooling effect, smooth operation and relatively small vibration, saving power

Disadvantages: low-frequency and low-speed vibration, small torque, no overload capability, loss of steps or stalling during operation with excessive load, low control accuracy, and correspondingly slow progress.

3. Control system:

ATC CNC Router system usually is Syctec 6MA/6MB/20MA/200MA (mostly use 60MA/60MB)
Common cnc router system have many types like Ncstudio /MACH3/DSP A11 
Ncstudio have NK260 NK280 NK300
DSP have A11E/A18 etc
Mach3 usually used in America and Asia area
